The Chow Chow is a breed of dog which originated in China as a general purpose dog. It has a very distinctive form of fur distribution, with a very dense coat that gets much thicker at the neck, making it appear to almost have a mane.
The Chow Chow can be trained, but it is a fairly independent breed that may require consistent effort in order to do so. The dog is also likely to not get on with strangers, or with other dogs, which may cause problems in some situations.
