The Belgian Shepherd Dog can actually refer to any of four breeds of dog, although only the Groenendael dog breed is universally referred to under this title. This breed has a hard, long coat and grows to around 60cm high. All of the Belgian Shepherd Dogs were originally sheep dogs and they retain their hard working, high energy personality.
This breed is very intelligent and will become bored if it is not active and is not allowed to engage in a variety of fairly complex ideas. The Belgian Shepherd dog breed develops a strong bond, and likes to socialise. They will often pine if left alone for extended periods.
