Bearded Collies are of a medium size and can be marked by their long, shaggy coat. This breed is generally free of disease, although they are known to suffer from diseases that are common to many types of dogs. Traditionally they were sheep herding dogs.
They are generally energetic and enjoy playing and will be friendly, often even towards strangers. They are intelligent dogs, but at times they can be hard to train, as they like to get their own way.
