The Basenji, which originated in the Congo, is a small, short haired dog that is renown for the strange yodelling noise that it may make. They generally way about 10 kilograms and are extremely concerned with maintaining their own personal cleanliness.
They are intelligent dogs, and very friendly, but they may at times push the limits of obedience by disobeying their owners, often in a friendly, playful spirit. They are naturally very curious, and will investigate anything they find to be strange.
